Pennsylvania Quarter Horse Youth Association ...It's Not Just For Riding!

When you join PQHYA, you're not only joining the premier Quarter Horse Association in Pennsylvania that offers you so many opportunities to achieve your goals in the saddle, but you are joining an association that offers you fantastic opportunities "out of the saddle."

Have you ever considered becoming a member of a horse judging team? PQHYA is now planning on organizing a team to compete at the World Show and the Congress. It's a great way to advance your horse knowledge, meet a great bunch of kids who share your passion, earn World/National recognition, and have FUN!

Perhaps you have the gift of gab...did you know there are competitions for public speaking at both the World Show and the Congress? Why not consider showing your stuff and go for the blue ribbon in public speaking!

For our talented young ladies between the ages of 14-18, PQHYA has a Jr. Queen's Contest, held at the annual PQHYA Youth Show in July. We're looking for that special girl to represent Pennsylvania's Youth Association and learn the ropes, especially if she has the ambition to run for PQHA Queen and represent Pennsylvania at the All American Quarter Horse Congress.

PQHYA Team Requirements:

* Must be a member in good standing with PQHA & PQHYA
* Must nominate for both PQHA & PQHYA points
* Submit Letter of Intent to Mardi Means by March 15, 2010
* Attend two meetings before May 31, 2010
* Must attend the meeting at the 2010 PQHYA Youth Show
* Work detail as outlined by the Youth Advisor
* $150 in sponsorship support
* Submit $50 with Letter of Intent (to cover AQHYA fundraiser)
