NOTICE: RECENT
CHANGES IN PA HEALTH REGULATIONS
After our showbills were printed, the PA Department of Agriculture changed
the requirements for the 2009 show season. There are NO health
documents required for in-state horses.
Out-of-state horses remain the same as printed on the show bill.
Attention:
The PQHA executive board (Rita McMullen, Tammy Eichstadt, Jerry Yohn,
Shelly Weaver, Brenda Campbell points chair)met by conference call on
May 18, 2009 to discuss pointing of AQHA Introductory Shows, the
following rules will be in effect for 2009.
PQHA will abide by the vote taken by the entire board of directors on December 5, 2008 that any show held on the same date as an already approved show in PA will not be approved for PQHA points.
Also, any show interested in PQHA points should apply in writing at least 45 days prior to the date of the show to the PQHA points chairman (Brenda Campbell) and if approved all results of said show must be submitted to the points chairman within 10 days of the show.

Happy New Year and Greetings from your PQHA President. As I reflect upon my first full year serving as PQHA President, I am thankful and amazed at how many successful programs PQHA provides. I am truly proud to be part of this hard working group of members and association leaders. We once again have a very capable Board of Directors leading this organization, involved in all aspects of the Quarter Horse world. We welcome our new members to the Board and offer a BIG THANK YOU to our outgoing Officers and Board members. I have challenged our Board to "Mentor" and involve a fellow member in our association leadership and activities for the 2009 year.

PQHA is mindful of the current economy and we want to continue to offer quality programs to our members at an affordable price. Effective 2009, we will be streamlining our newsletters to THREE issues during the year plus our Annual Show program. However, remember that our PQHA website www.pqha.org has all of our forms and activities available at your fingertips. PQHA is not just a "SHOW" organization; you can be involved without even owning a Quarter Horse. We continue to offer many
educational and recreational activities to our members. All of these opportunities are available as part of your PQHA membership. This newsletter issue is full of forms and news that you will need throughout the 2009 year, please take time to read these details now. If you attend the PA Horse World Expo, held at the PA Farm Show Complex, February 26 - March 1, 2009, please be sure to stop by the PQHA Booth. PQHA has been an exhibitor at this event for several years and it is an important outreach project for education and information to Quarter Horse owners. Thanks to all of our sponsors and advertisers for your continued support of the PQHA programs and events for 2009.
